Karin and ImpKarin Livingston won her first Morgan Horse in an essay contest. "Imp" grew into a talented show mount.   That essay also launched Karin into the national show world, riding for Red Fox Morgans of Gilroy, CA.

Bonnie showing at Boxelder She participated in The Morgan Nationals, 1978, in the Saddle Seat Medal class.  At the same time, Karin won many local blues with her first horse, a Morgan-Quarter mare. Karin and her husband purchased the stables in 1990 and it continues to operate under Karin today, 20 years later.

 

Karin giving lessonsKarin's expertise includes 16 years as a 4-H Horse Project leader, highest certification as a Level IV Western and Hunt Seat rater, judging, and continued professional development in horsemanship, stable, and land management.

Karin is also an aspiring author.  Karin started her writing career as a reporter and editor with the award-winning McClatchy Newspapers, and later taught junior-high language arts and Spanish. In 1990, she and her husband bought Poudre River Stables in Fort Collins, Colorado.  Her recently published book, “Winning Bet,” is available for purchase on Amazon and Barnes and Noble.  Karin’s full bio can be seen here.

 

Karin still shows, and has won many competitions in Northern Colorado.
